AND THEN YOU DIE

crosses

Crosses (Photo credit: withrow)

He tests with every Station
lessons that hurt and wound
and yet he lets them

bite us with illness and destruction
betrayal and deceit
everything erupting

around our helplessness
in fits, like old-man spit
a life crumbling

apart, to fulfil a story
of a man and a cross.
And then you die.
